cliché...

At the beginning of 2007, John Green was asked what cliché he'd be, if he were, in fact, a cliché. Ever since then, I've been thinking about what cliché I'd be.

I've come up with five:

  • actions speak louder than words.
  • just do it.
  • patience is a virtue.
  • better safe than sorry.
  • forgive and forget.

All of these clichés seem to represent me or my life in some way, whether it be because of my family, or experiences I've had. I love clichés. I don't think they're "overused," at all. I think clichés are a necessary part of everyday speech. I also wonder what sort of qualifications a word or phrase must have in order to become a cliché. Is there a certain number of times it must be used by certain folks? At what point does it make the change from regularly used phrase to cliché?

Hmm...things to ponder...

later days.
