I've come up with five:
- actions speak louder than words.
- just do it.
- patience is a virtue.
- better safe than sorry.
- forgive and forget.
All of these clichés seem to represent me or my life in some way, whether it be because of my family, or experiences I've had. I love clichés. I don't think they're "overused," at all. I think clichés are a necessary part of everyday speech. I also wonder what sort of qualifications a word or phrase must have in order to become a cliché. Is there a certain number of times it must be used by certain folks? At what point does it make the change from regularly used phrase to cliché?
Hmm...things to ponder...
later days.
