I got to sleep in a little today. And I didn't have to work. And I bought dorm sheets. Niiice.
I did get some not-so-good news today, though. My wonderful would-be roommate Brittany is no longer coming to our school. Even though I haven't even met her yet, I cried when she told me she wasn't able to secure a loan, and would not be coming to the OC. I was upset, and she was worse. Although it's a terrible situation, I still wish her the best of luck, and hope that she can transfer in next year.
The loss of my roommate also leaves me with some wide-open questions. Since Brittany isn't coming, does that mean I get a double room all to myself? Will I get stuck with some random last minute student, who I know nothing about? Will I have to transfer dorms? And most importantly, where am I going to find a mini-fridge?
I also got to enjoy a terribly rainy football game this evening. I most definitely wore flip-flops, and that was most definitely a bad idea.
I had a conversation with a good friend about the ideology of "being gay." My friend, who is bi-sexual, is conflicted because of the stigma that being gay is wrong. Although I hold strong beliefs in Christianity, I most definitely believe that it is a person's choice as to who they want to love. He made mention of the fact that lesbians have it easier than gay men. "Women can lay with women, theoretically," he explained, because the Bible only states that "a man should not lay with a man." To which I responded, "Yeah, the Bible does say that, but that's why you do it standing up."
laterdays.
